Ms Gerber began by cleansing her face with the Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser, priced at $55 from Sephora, to remove excess oil and unwanted makeup.

Next she applied a small amount of the Paula’s Choice skin perfecting 2 per cent BHA Liquid Exfoliant using a cotton pad – which is currently on sale on the brand’s website for $32.31 down from $38.

‘I used to be very into exfoliating and I would scrub my face like crazy, and I have learnt now that you can exfoliate gently with toner,’ she said.

The leave-on Paula’s Choice exfoliant is known to be the brand’s ‘cult favourite’ as it clears and minimises enlarged pores and contains BHA (Beta hydroxyl acid) to shed built-up layers of skin.

Next, she applied the Paula’s Choice clinical Niacinamide 20 per cent Treatment to reduce the look of stretched pores and banish the appearance of rough textured skin.

According to the online description, Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is a multifaceted ingredient that penetrates the skin’s surface to help improve the look of sagging, stretched pores.

‘This is one of my favourite ingredients of all time, it has saved my skin!’ she said.

Only a few drops of the facial oil are needed and the product can be used twice a day if necessary.

She then applied an under-eye oil to reduce the look of dark circles that often occur due to fatigue and massaged her face with a gua sha to boost blood flow.
